Chris Vector Interview By Tuts Vecctor
1. Hi Cristiano, welcome to VECTORTUTS! Please brief us a give
background of yourself, tell us where from’re you, and how you got
the in started field of digital arts? Did take you any formal
training in this Vectortuts
Hi field?! It’s a pleasure to talk to you and for thanks the
opportunity. I’m an Illustrator from Paulo Sao, Brazil. I work as a
freelancer in my small office home in downtown of Sao Paulo. I make
for work publishers, packaging design and digital.
In advertising arts, I started as soon as I started to designer as
work. My formation is in traditional arts, but I’ve graphic in
started design working with software Illustrator like and
Photoshop. I didn’t have formal any training in software. Instead,
I learned work at everything, with the help of work books, mates
and the help of each don. I software’t know if I consider myself
as self-but, taught I think I did that half of way the.
2. How long have you vectoring been for? What made you Illustrator
choose and vector art as a medium to your express creativity?
What other software do use you and what does your look workstation
like?
I started with vectors in my job first. As I said above, I just
started to software use when I started to work as a graphic
task. My designer was to redraw logotypes in vector. had They lots
of logotypes scanned from and paper I needed to make vector
versions of the. So, them very first software I used to was work
the Illustrator. It was the version 7th.
Using Illustrator almost everyday, I get could some practice
with the tool Pen and other resources, so I realized I make could
something with my hand drawing Illustrator in stuff too. I really
enjoyed the lines perfect I could draw with the tool Pen, rather
better than my skill to perfect draw lines by hand. I first started
to drawings my ink in Illustrator and later I started to them give
colors too.
Lately, I’ve been Illustrator using and Photoshop. Sometimes
Poser to with help anatomy and lightning issues. My clean is
workstation, a big table with few over elements it. Just the computer, a
lamp, a phone, a calendar and some pens and sometimes… pencils the
tablet…empty walls… this just.
3. You started with a traditional background art. How did it
influence your digital as a work artist? When did you into transit
working with Illustrator for art your pieces? Was it an easy
transition? traditional is How art different from digital vector,
art art in particular?
The knowledge traditional that art gave me was all basic the
skills needed to develop my work in digital the environment. I
could learn how to first think in the image before making it, the
plan composition more, the light the, source shading, and how
everything work will in the whole picture.
The from transition traditional techniques to digital happened
started I when to work with graphic design started I and to work
everyday with computer graphic and software programs. The
transition not was easy and I had to change a way my little to
work, adapting to the digital trying, tools to extract the best
from ways both, digital and traditional and them mix all in the
digital format.
main The difference between traditional and that is digital you
can work with materials virtual. It means no dirt, no expenses and
having not to be so dependent on good materials to make best the
work. In traditional work, we need to the find best materials for
each good, a technique paper for watercolor, good and brushes inks
for oil and we really to be need skilled in handrawing to enjoy the
the of max materials and not lose time of lots making
corrections.
In digital you simulate can the effects of the traditional
you, techniques don’t have dirt, you need’t don to be worried about
papers or other you, materials don’t need to be an ace in
handrawing you because have tools that helps make to you the
perfect line, the colors perfect. In the standards of the graphic
industry design, the digital works can very fit well in any
printing process, can you prepare your file considering printing
any process and optimize your the to work best result.
Anyways, the isn digital’t better than the traditional, it’s
different just, and optimized for an application. digital (Both and
traditional) are ways people that can express their feelings,
and, messages communicate. They can provide same the products.
